MapsWhat can you expect for maps? Most of the race courses use the standard 1:50,000 scale topographical maps that you can buy at your local map store. These maps are not kept up to date by the government, so you can expect to find roads that aren't shown on the map and to see roads on the map that are so overgrown as to be impassable. To complicate matters, some sections of the map are in elevation of meters while other sections are in feet. Do your best and know that every competitor out there is in the same boat as you.
